Trial class FAQ
How do I pay/sign up?
Contact us via the contact form or via our social media to let us know you would like to attend. We will send you a tikkie to reserve your place.
Do I have to bring anything?
There is no gear required for the trial class. Protective gear such as gloves, goggles or crotch protection may be brought, as it will be required for regular classes. Water is recommended to be brought. Please do not come with any jewlery, as you will be asked to remove it before the class starts.
For people wearing vision correction glasses, soft goggles will be provided for the duration of the sparring segment of the trial class. You will not be asked to take off your glasses if you require them to see.
What language will the class be in?
This trial class will be conducted fully in English with Italian phrases. Ludosport is Italian and many of the names for techniques are in Italian. Simple phrases can be translated to Dutch to clear up confusion if necessary.
May I / Do I have to bring my own saber?
Our sabers are designed for Ludosport. Hence, there is only a small list of saber models allowed for the sport, as they are tested to be safe. You are not expected to have a saber of your own in the trial class or weekly classes. One will be provided for you for the duration of the class. If you want to bring your own saber to check with us if it is eligible for use within the sport, then please let us know beforehand.
Does Ludosport hurt?
The sport is designed to be safe. Situations do occur when a forearm may receive a small bruise. It is important not to get discouraged because of this and keep to the taught techniques.
Can I use my own sport against Ludosport? / Can I just fight my friend?
No. In Ludosport we follow set rules. Different sports have different rules. We also cannot let you do your own thing, as the taught techniques are ensured to be safe for beginners. By fighting freestyle your or the health of others may be at risk.
